Designer Spotlight: Suzanne Kasler
Suzanne Kasler is the ultimate designers’ designer! Her interiors are grand but livable, while the woman herself is chic and approachable. Students of design and fans all over the world see her as one of the most influential American designers today—and the Elle Decor A-List, AD100, and Casa Branca agrees! From her four books featuring her timeless, inspired, and sophisticated interiors to the Franco-European influences we endlessly admire, to her knack for storytelling through decor, Suzanne continues to set the standard for design elegance and innovation.
✤ Q & A ✤
What made you choose Casa Branca for these spaces?
Casa Branca's prints have a distinctive flair. Also, the colors are always just right!
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Travel is my main inspiration! Especially Paris— I find so much inspiration, from architectural details, color combinations, to fashion moments and French interiors. I also find Instagram incredibly inspiring. I love to follow different creatives and designers.
What is your go-to hostess gift for holiday entertaining?
The Moda Domus nesting raffia bowls are one of my favorite gifts. They are the perfect mix of casual elegance - everyone loves them!
What is your signature fall cocktail or meal?
What's more festive than champagne? A flute of Veuve is my go-to cocktail around the holidays.
Favorite scent for the home?
Tips for designing with color and pattern?
I may be known for my use of color, but I actually use it in a more subtle way. I like to use it as the last layer and as an accent. When you have a more neutral foundation, you can really add in complimentary color in a strategic and elevated way and still with an impact. For pattern, I feel the same: it can tie the room together as a last layer.
Favorite Casa Branca fabric, wallpaper, or item. :)
I love Casa Branca's Palampore in the Salmon & Roman colorway. It is so subtle, the perfect design and completely livable - a print with staying power!
