Casa Branca is proud to have partnered with Lindsey Walsh Interior Design, Townsend Lloyd & Co, and Zachary Mathias Interiors on this year's luncheon tables. Each designer brought their own vision and style to the tablescapes, all while designing in support of organizations helping people in need. We're so grateful for their creativity, generosity, and the time they gave to make each table as meaningful as it was beautiful — and we're honored to celebrate their work here.

Tell us a little about the organization your table was designed for? Personal connection? Any special details you might have!

Homes With Hope is an amazing charity and every spring they host a luncheon that raises funds for their women’s house. The women’s house supports the needs of homeless women ages 18-24, the program will provide a safe and supportive environment in which residents will embark on individual paths toward self-sufficiency. Growing up I was always involved with the organization as my dad was board member and would bring my sister and I to volunteer in the food pantry and serving meals in the shelter. As I grew older and had a budding interest in design my dad suggested I design a table for the luncheon as it would be a great way to give back while also doing something I really loved. Every table is designed by a different designer and then raffled off, it’s a great event that so many look forward to. I have been lucky to have been designing a table every year since I was in high school, this year was the 5th table I’ve designed.

What was the core concept, inspiration or story behind your table design? Do you have a sketch, mood board or scheme to share with us? Please also include any personal favorite photography from the event. 

I knew I wanted to create a mahjong table because I thought the tiles were so pretty and I knew the game was so popular so I figured it would get extra raffle tickets!!! I also have a strong affinity for poodles and I wanted to find a fun way to incorporate poodles into the table, and that was kinda the jumping off point!

Which specific element on your table served as the ultimate conversation starter for guests?

When setting a table I think it’s always fun to have little discoveries and small details that often serve as people’s favorite touch. The ultimate conversation starter was the bespoke set of mahjong tiles I designed with Brooklyn Mahjong with poodles as the dragons. It definitely sparked the common conversation between players as to what they look for in a set, their personally mat preferences and so on.

Did you include any special personalized touches or favors at each setting that connected back to the charity's mission?

My favorite touch was each guest had a watercolor rendering by Lisa Cummings of the table. It served as the perfect place to put the menu and also talk about the charities work within our community. Another fun detail was each guest had a chocolate poodle at their place settings to take home, a very whimsical Zac touch!!

How did the Casa Branca pieces inspire your overall color palette or item selections?Can you share a bit about your experience working with Casa Branca?

Srinagar from Casa Branca was the jumping off point for everything, it gave me a color direction but also set the mood and allowed me to lean into a more palm beach aesthetic. Because of the fabric selection I went down an internet rabbit hole searching for peach mahjong tiles and I just couldn’t find a set that fit the table. I made a call one afternoon to Molly at Brooklyn Mahjong to ask if she could produce a set of tiles for the table in a two month window. She asked me to share color codes that I liked for the set and instead I sent her samples of Casa Branca and said please work off these!

Which specific item served as the anchor piece for your design?

It’s hard to pick one specific anchor piece but naturally the centerpiece comes to mind! I decided I wanted to go a little campy and dramatic with the centerpiece, obviously when I’m entering at home I don’t create centerpieces onto of garden stools. But for an event like this more is more, and I knew I wanted the flowers to pop with a burst of yellow against all the peach on the table!

How did you blend our items with your own signature style?

That was not a hard task, Casa Branca makes some of my absolute favorite fabrics. I am a big fan of using trims, I often will joke with clients I am allergic to a self welt! So one of my favorite things about the Casa Branca line is just how easy it is to use multiple patterns from them and we took the coordinating Spinagar Stripe fabric to make a tape trim that was used on all the table skirt panels. But what’s fun about creating a table to me is if you allow it the table takes on its own persona, and this one definitely is giving a blend of Casa Branca’s Palm Beach vibe and my Connecticut roots.

Lindsey Walsh is a Parsons-trained interior designer who delights in helping clients create homes that are beautiful, inviting and personal.  Based outside of Princeton, NJ, Lindsey’s work regularly takes her to Bronxville, NY; Rye, NY; Upper East Side, NY; Darien, CT; Lake Forest, IL and Dallas, TX.  Her firm specializes in whole home renovations and new builds and has been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, the Wall Street Journal and beyond.

Tell us a little about the organization your table was designed for?  

Our table design was in support of the Community Fund of Darien which provides access to food, housing, healthcare, employment skills, youth success programs and emergency services to the citizens of Stamford, Norwalk and Darien.

Personal connection? Any special details you might have! 

I have always admired this tabletop show in particular because there’s such massive talent working towards a great cause.  This year’s roster included Stephane Woodmanse of Henry & Co, Tori Mellott for Tuckernuck and Emily Sackett from Dan Fink Studio.  You can’t get better than that!

What was the core concept, inspiration or story behind your table design?  

We were inspired by what a spring luncheon must have been like at Villar Perosa, Maria Agnellis’ estate outside of Turin, with cherry blossoms exploding amongst the verdant green.

 Do you have a sketch, mood board or scheme to share with us? Please also include any personal favorite photography from the event.   

Which specific item served as the anchor piece for your design?  

Our anchor piece was the beautiful Casa Branca Nantes fabric in Celery and Shell which our workroom, Interior Elegance, fabricated into a stunning tablecloth, lined with Samuel & Sons Bullion Fringe.   

Which specific element on your table served as the ultimate conversation starter for guests?  

Our florist, Studio Imbue, arranged the most beautiful, massive display of gorgeous 
Cherry Blossoms in a matte white Jean Roger Medici vase from Casa Branca.  You 
couldn’t miss it!

Did you include any special personalized touches or favors at each setting that connected back to the charity's mission?  

I worked with my amazing calligrapher, Tracey Feller of Feather & Funk, to design a 
beautiful menu card in a thick paper stock with each guest’s name hand written in white 
ink.

How did the Casa Branca pieces inspire your overall color palette or item selections?  

Because there’s such strong, saturated color in the Nantes tablecloth and the cherry 
blossoms, we juxtaposed all of that color with white cabbage Casa Branca dinner plates, 
Jean Roger white seaweed candleholders from Casa Branca,  clear Casa Branca twist 
tumblers and clear Casa Branca wine glasses. 

Can you share a bit about your experience working with Casa Branca?

Casa Branca was a dream to work with - everyone was so kind and the shop has the most extraordinary assortment. 

How did you blend our items with your own signature style?  

I love to create beautifully personal homes filed with joy,  which is truly so easy to do with the pieces carried by Casa Branca.  Every object in their collection feels so fresh and optimistic.

Townsend Lloyd opened the doors to Townsend & Co in 2018 after nearly a decade of experience in the design industry. Townsend graduated from the New York School of Interior Design and launched her career in publishing at SANDOW Media. She has worked for top designers in New York City and Greenwich, CT including Rinfret, Ltd and Eileen Kathryn Boyd Interiors.

Tell us a little about the organization your table was designed for? I know we helped you in 2024 with this event as well, so if you wanted to include any details from that event, that would be great. Personal connection? Any special details you might have! 

We have supported the D2D event benefiting the Darien Community Fund for four years in a row. It is an incredible organization providing much needed support to underserved families in our community. The event and organization are incredibly well run making it fun for designers to participate while supporting an excellent cause.

What was the core concept, inspiration or story behind your table design? 

After a very long, cold and snowy winter we were ready to embrace long summer evenings shared with friends over home cooked meals and a cold glass of wine. Summer entertaining was the inspiration for our table and we turned to some of our favorite vendors to put together an idyllic summer tablescape. We wanted the table to feel elevated and effortless at the same time which we were able to achieve with the gorgeous casa branca fabric on the tablecloth, AERIN tabletop and accessories from Serena & Lily.

Which specific element on your table served as the ultimate conversation starter for guests? 

Guests were really drawn to the beautiful printed tablecloth and gorgeous plates by AERIN. Both elements were classic and timeless with a small twist to keep the tablescape current and fresh.

How did the Casa Branca pieces inspire your overall color palette or item selections? 

The entire palette for the table was inspired by the fabric. I loved the blues and sandy tones mixed throughout and the scale of the pattern is truly perfect. It is structured while still feeling organic and a bit whimsical. We really started with the tablecloth and built out the tablescape from there!

Which specific item served as the anchor piece for your design? 

The tablecloth anchored everything! It was really important to get that foundation right and build out the accessories to compliment but not compete with the gorgeous pattern.

How did you blend our items with your own signature style?

I am always drawn to a very tailored and clean look but I love incorporating pops of color and pattern to keep the space interesting and inviting. Casa Branca’s textiles and wall coverings offer gorgeous patterns with great color palettes and attention to scale. They are timeless and elegant without feeling stuffy - which I love!

We are working on some exciting new projects in CT, The Hamptons and even Cabo, Mexico at the moment. We have some great Casa Branca textiles incorporated into the designs and cannot wait to share more!
