Before founding Johnson Sokol Interior Design, Lisa honed her instincts in fine art and antiques as a Sotheby’s alum. Her time at a prestigious Georgetown gallery specializing in 18th- and 19th-century paintings gave her an expert sense of provenance—and the confidence to mix Biedermeier with mid-century and modern art in the same breath.
After co-founding an antiques shop in Old Town Alexandria, she teamed up with Sarah Johnson to launch JSID in 2009, quickly gaining a reputation for plush, detail-rich interiors. Since Sarah’s retirement in 2023, Lisa has led the firm solo, bringing her signature style to residential projects across the country. At JSID, no two rooms are the same, and every space tells a beautiful story.
