Designer Spotlight: Caitlin Kah
As Architectural Digest noted when naming Caitlin Kah one of their Best Palm Beach and Boca Raton Designers, her work is “timeless and livable, no matter the aesthetic.” At Casa Branca, we’re big admirers of her sleek, fresh and playful interiors. Caitlin is never afraid of color or pattern (or plenty of both), and we love her brilliant incorporation of artwork and organic touches into refined spaces.
Before opening Caitlin Kah Interiors, she learned from the best as a lead designer at Kemble Interiors, and since then, CKI’s projects from across the US to the Caribbean have been featured in Luxe Interiors + Design, The New York Times, Mansion Global, and The Wall Street Journal.
✤ Q & A ✤
What made you choose Casa Branca for this space?
For the bedroom, we started with Nantes as the beautiful headboard fabric. Our client walked into Casa Branca and immediately fell in love with it. We were thrilled when she brought it to our meeting, and built from there – the small scale print on the lampshades was a perfect balance to the more dramatic headboard. Later, we added the upholstered stools in Rosa Rigata; we felt they were such a fun unexpected pop of hot pink!
The Animal Kingdom Madagascar wallpaper was our jumping off point in the living room. The room quickly came together once we decided we wanted to lean into the more soft muted melon, coral and yellow colors. I loved the wallpaper so much that I ended up using it in my children’s playroom.
Where do you draw your design inspiration from?
Palm Beach is such an inspiring place to work and live. I get inspiration from walking down Worth Ave to pick up my lunch! If I ever feeling stuck, I just walk outside and my creativity is sparked by the beautiful architecture, lush landscape and stylish people.
Favorite Casa Branca fabric, wallpaper, or item :)
I love the Brighton Ottoman- it's so functional, as well as chic. It can be used in every project in a new way, since you can upholster it in any fabric, or customize the finish of the legs to make it unique for different spaces.
Go-to hostess gift?
Cocktail napkins. You can never have enough. The Fleurette Cocktail Napkins are fab.
What is your signature summer cocktail or meal for entertaining?
A Paloma and pizza with a summer salad!
Favorite scent for the home?
Nest's Ocean Mist + Sea Salt Candle.
