Alessandra’s penchant for mixing high and low, patterned and plain, comes through in the palette she developed for our velvet and mohair collections. She took an often-staid textile and colored it contemporary.
No interior of mine has existed without velvets and mixtures of textures.
Designed to combine well with our fabrics and wallpapers, our velvet and mohairs are great for layering and adding texture to any design scheme.
✤ Velvet ✤
Synonymous with softness and luxury, velvet is derived from the Italian word velluto, meaning “shaggy.” It is closely woven with a short plush pile allowing it to soak up richly-huedpigments like ourcustom-dyedCoral and Sky.
✤ Mohair ✤
Mohair is a popular fiber as it adds strength, warmth, and luxury to any item. Mohair, like velvet, holds dye extremely well, and has the added benefit of being naturally flame retardant and moisture wicking.
Mohair is a fantastic material. It has a wonderful strong, dry quality.
Upholstering with mohair is a great option for any room. Its strength makes it work in public spaces, kids’ rooms, as well as on your puppy’s favorite piece of furniture.
