Designer Spotlight: Paige Blodgett Scher
Paige Blodgett Scher’s layered, pattern-filled interiors reflect her eclectic, (but so refined), vision in both large and small spaces. Her charming style is showcased in her diminutive Brooklyn apartment, featured in Architectural Digest's Clever, and in a sweeping West Hollywood home highlighted in Veranda, where every inch is put to its best use while displaying a house full of treasures.
Paige's designs nod to tradition, and beautifully celebrate grand and intimate moments in the same space. After years working at venerable East Coast design firms, Paige launched her namesake firm in 2021, transforming spaces from New York to England with her signature touch. Even her Cocker Spaniel (Elsie De Woof!) happily carries on the aesthetic tradition…
✤ Q & A ✤
Go-to hostess gift?
It’s safe to say that everyone loves a cozy, new throw. I love choosing the perfect color to coordinate with a friend’s home décor. For years, I’ve gifted the Lands Down Under Italian Herringbone throw blankets, and the extensive colors to choose from make it a personal and thoughtful gift.
Favorite scent for the home?
Maison Louis Marie’s No.04 Bois de Balincourt candle is my favorite sandalwood scent. I have a small stash of them in my closet so I never run out.
What is your signature fall cocktail or meal for entertaining?
What made you choose Casa Branca for these spaces?
Versatility! I turn to them often because they’re perfect in homes of all styles and locations. The patterns and prints are unique, and in a great spectrum of colorways, as well as the basics. This allows you to fully lean into a Casa Branca room or pick and choose your favorites to mix with other brands. For me, Casa Branca covers all the bases.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I worked for some very talented decorators in New York before starting my firm. I’m still inspired by their creativity. Traveling is my other source of inspiration. Whether I’m exploring a small town in Vermont or planning a longer trip to Europe, there are endless shops to visit and vendors to discover. Finding yourself in a new environment is always inspiring.
Tips for designing with color and pattern?
I love decorating with bold patterns and colors, but I believe it’s important to give them space to breathe. Go for the bold wallpaper, but pare it back with a solid sofa or classic ticking stripe.Upholster the chair in a colorful print, but choose a light and airy paint color. It’s all about balance, in my opinion.
Favorite Casa Branca fabric, wallpaper, or item. :)
Vimini Madagascar is my absolute favorite. The combination of wicker and wallpaper is brilliant!
