✤ Q & A ✤
What made you choose Casa Branca for this space?
I love that Casa Branca textiles are at once fresh, yet classic, very much in keeping with my own style.
Where do you draw your design inspiration from?
As cliche as it may sound, travel is my greatest source of inspiration. Few things are as powerful as getting out of your routine and being exposed to new sights, sounds, flavors, and cultures. I always find ideas for my design projects as well as product design ideas while traveling. It just feeds my soul in a way few other things can.
Tips for designing with color and pattern?
I tend to use color and pattern in a more intentional and edited way. I believe in starting with a hero fabric and building the palette around it.
Favorite Casa Branca fabric, wallpaper, or item :)
It's hard to pick a favorite because the entire collection is so good, but I love the Madagascar wallpapers, especially the Vimini basketweave pattern which I have in my own powder room.
Go-to hostess gift?
If someone has us over for dinner, I'll bring a nice bottle of wine or champagne. If I am someone's houseguest, I will usually send flowers or a care package from Flamingo Estate.
What is your signature summer cocktail or meal for entertaining?
I love a Spicy Ranch Water in the summer. It's refreshing and low-calorie. It's just Topo Chico (no other sparkling water will do), lots of fresh-squeezed lime juice, and a good blanco tequila. The spicy comes from muddling some jalapeños into it and adding Tajín to the rim.
Favorite scent for the home?
My favorite scent for the home is Diptyque Tubéreuse.
