The modern Olympic “torch” we see today dates back to the 1936 Berlin Games, when the Torch Relay was inspired by the ancient Greek Games. The first Games on record were in 776 B.C., and the torch has been a legendary symbol of the power and excitement of the Olympics ever since. The Paris 2024 torch was created by Frenchman Mathieu Lehanneur, who says the experience was a “designer’s dream”. His magical lights inspired us to seek the most beautiful illumination of our own!
