Casa Branca joins forces with Swans Island to present a collection of heirloom-quality throws, handwoven on vintage looms in Northport, Maine. Drawing from our iconic Branca Stripe—a pattern inspired by a room at Potsdam and beloved for over 25 years—and our playful Branca Ticking, these throws represent the marriage of Casa Branca's design heritage with Swans Island's time-honored processes and commitment to fine craftsmanship.
Each of the three designs tells its own story. Branca Stripe Grande reimagines our signature stripes in an oversize scale, while Branca Stripe features an unexpected color flip midway through—transitioning from cozy off-white on one end to a colorful hue on the other. Branca Ticking reimagines the utilitarian 16th-century French fabric as a sophisticated wool throw, paying homage to Sister Parish's mid-century embrace of classic ticking.
Shop nowEvery throw begins in Swans Island's Northport dye house, where artisans hand-dye each skein of organic merino wool in small batches to achieve richly saturated, variegated tones. Skilled weavers then work at vintage hand looms, building each piece one at a time. The distinctive Swans Island weaver's mark, woven into the corner, serves as the maker's signature—a quiet testament to work made by hand.
